Beautiful ride today to catch the desert blooms before it was too late...

7 hours on the road, 226 miles, averaged 61 MPG and an average speed of 32 MPH (lot's of stops for pictures and a nice lunch).

Max speed hit was 59 MPH.

Best MPG through the desert was 69 MPG, worst pulling up HWY 8 East was 56 MPG.

As always, I'll let the pictures do the talking. Here is the general SPOT track:

Thank you for this RR warren,
Some of the best memories of my 20's was following the
same tracks on my 454ltd back in the 80's when I lived
down there in Lemmon Grove. There was this joint in
Boulevard called the "Dirty Shirt" that had the best burgers and cold beer.
I used to camp at Dog Patch USA when stuff was going on there too.
    Great photos !

Great photos of some fine country. I used to prowl that area myself some years back. Nice to see it's still there.

    Hey, Garlic-

I've ridden by "Dog Patch, USA" on Highway 94 a bunch of times, and have always wondered what it is/was all about. Not long ago, I walked around the place and guessed that maybe it was some sort of campground or something.

Someone told me it used to be a biker bar. When was the heyday of this area? I would love to learn the history of the place. There's not much left of it. There are several areas along 94 that intrigue me, and this is one of them.:ear

    Dirt

Hey, there's another interesting place about two miles to the east, on the south side of the highway. It has a long, red wall topped with wrought iron in front of the property. I did some snooping here and it looks like it has been abandoned for quite a while. I am also guessing this was some sort old resort-type place. Any insight?
