At least a few of us will be meeting this Sunday at the Waffle House (Bell and I-17) at 0700 and slabbing it to Kirkland junction (Wagoner road) turn off then into the Bradshaws at least as far as the V-Strom can be persuaded to go. Maybe on to Crown King and lunch, maybe back down via Lake Pleasant. If you want to ride along, you are welcome and can split or go on at your will.

We will leave at 0700 sharp so should be there by 8:45 (allows for stops). Check this posting for late updates as my bike just got run over today and I'm fixing it now. My rant here... http://www.klr650.net/forums/showthread.php?t=44005
If meeting us there you should meet at the Wagoner road cattle guard.

    the more the merrier....

Living in the East Valley I am not very familar with the roads over there. I am going to try and make it but wondered how much dirt are we looking at (more dirt makes me happy) but I wear different gear if it's mostly slab.

    Thanks

    Rick

You will be slab all the way to the wagoner turn off (roughly 70 miles) then 3 miles of dirt followed by 8 miles of great twisty paved. Then as much dirt as you want in many directions.

Nuc, That sounds like a great ride. However, after trying to keep up with the big KTM's last weekend, I'm taken it slow this one. Nick and I are going to check out Castle Hot Springs. Maybe next time!

PS: I have a friend at work that maybe picking up a KLR650 tonight.

Thanks but they have a guy there that scarfs all good incoming KLR parts for his own. I have tried before and not had much luck for KLR stuff. He even tried talking me out of my parts bike when I got it but since it was front end totalled there's not much to help me in this issue.:huh

I'll get it all together one way or another...

Tis just a pic found on the web, no relation... The Crown King goal is only if the Strom can get past the uglier parts on the wagoner road. Keep in mind we may return the same path. I have to strip off some bent parts yet today and straighten a front wheel but will be there in the morning for sure. Trip is on.
