Hi it's Bucco trying to jump in again. Sorry to change the subject - anyone going up to the Michaux DS ON Sunday? I figure to do it in one day. If anyone has been there before, can I get by with my stock Metzeler Tourrances?

Hi. I'm not available this weekend but I think Dan was looking for someone to ride with.

I think most of the stuff up there is gravel and you should be fine on Tourrances. Just air down a little.

Only been there twice but never needed any real off road tires, Dorito did it last weekend with Tourance's with no issues what so ever.

So J4S, when are we going to get the full run down on the new car, what you have done and what is next? I clearly underestimated the one series!!!!!!

The 2010 BMW 135i is equipped with the 3 liter N54 inline 6 cylinder twin turbo charged engine. In stock form this engine puts out 300 hp and 300 lbs/ft of torque. As with most turbo charged engines it's easy to gain massive hp and tq just with a tune of the ECM.

So, I've tuned the engine to run up to 17lbs of boost depending on octane and charge intake temp. So with cool temps and good fuel, I'm currently at about 350hp at the wheels. Near term upgrades include catless downpipes for better breathing(engine=air pump) and a larger more efficient intercooler. This should put me at a reliable 400rwhp.

Maybe at some point I'll go with methanol injection and run E85 which would yield somewhere around 450rwhp. At that point the car would be way over powered for its suspension and drive train. So then it would get a fully adjustable KW suspension upgrade and a quaife limited slip differential. Followed by a roll cage and all the crap that goes with a "track" car.

I highly doubt that I'll go much past 400hp as that would change it from a daily driver to a dedicated track car.

joints - that car sounds like a blast! How do you deal with emissions after removing the cat? I've thought about screwing with the VW but keep wondering what I'd do if they start checking emissions on diesels...

Most of the guys use O2 simulators units to provide back the correct voltage to the computer so it doesn't throw codes. The past several times I have been to emissions tests all they do is plug into the OBD plug and check for codes or computers which have been recently reset.

If anyone has any interest in a few for their kit I would be happy to sell a few off. They may not sound all that good but I thought they were one of the best MRE deserts.

They don't do emissions testing in StMary's(yet).

Downpipes and intercooler went in today. :clap

So what do you think happens when you have lots of traction(new sticky tires) and more HP and TQ?

    YEP! broken tranny. :eek1

    No kidding. :puke1

Now the question is weather I should take the tune out and see if BMW will cover it under warranty or get someone to rebuild the existing tranny stronger. I'm leaning toward rebuilding.
