This place was supposed to have a soda fountain but it didn't. I was disappointed.

I'd like to see a large locomotive, either steam or diesel electric. It must have at least eight axles. No models or toys, please.

Nice. I've never seen a large one like that. I've seen the trains go by with 3+ engines in the same direction, but never a huge one. Kind of cool.

I believe that one was made for the U.S. bicentennial and I'm not sure it was actually ever in service.

Well thats going to be a hard one in this area. CSX, Norfolk & Southern, Aberdeen & Rockfish and Amtrak all run this area but the biggest Locomotive any of those companies operates is a 6 axle unit.

This one might sit a while.

I've heard that before. I'm confident that someone will get it but if it sits too long I can amend it. Let's see what y'all come up with first.

Weather is not conducive to me riding 380 miles North to Ogden in the hopes of being able to get a pic of one with the bike. I haven't seen too many Cali boys in this thread either. We'll see.

Lucky for us, you guys ain't the only ones playing. Seriously, you guys may not have seen me in this game since I haven't played in a while, but I can assure you that there have been tougher items to grab than an eight axle locomotive. If its too hard for you, just let someone else get it.

I hope not! But it's been a little lean in the Winter here. The NC boys have been keeping the game going, along with the 'Sconcin rider and I.

So do the coal tender axles count as part of the locomotive on a steam engine??

    Like this?? (NOT A GRAB)

If so I might know where a static display is, close to HSRugby. :evil

I think that would be a good fallback grab if you can't find just a locomotive with eight. Let's give it a day.

OH I'm not going for it. Thats an hour and 1/2 ride for me and with my work schedule not in the picture. That is a picture I had from another game a few months back. It would be closer to a few other NC riders though. I was just making sure if that was acceptable since the couplers on those types are not quick couplers and designed to be run together. Static displays would be about the only ones of that size around here.

It is a cool TAG for sure.

The research I have found it is the grade changes on the east coast do not allow for the long chassis of the GE 8D style locomotives and we do not see them running on the tracks here. CSX does have a large locomotive terminal for the east coast in Hamlet NC about an hours ride from me. I might have to go and check it out one day in the future. Might be a good ride destination for my son and I. When I lived in Maryland (decades ago) I enjoyed the railroad and there was a large railyard there that was fun to watch when they were making up trains.

I'm sure someone will find one.
