Hey, relatively new to the area and would like to meet up with some people riding 800 XCs as well. It would be nice to see a little more of the non-urban California and ride on some roads where it is actually handy to have the XC. Anyone around Monterey?

We can use this thread for ride events that get setup in the lower half of CA. We had four of us on the last ride out of Santa Barbara area, Carrizo Plain, Pozo, Camino Cielo loop. Very fun weekend. RR on private forum.

I saw this thread on the last page and didn't want to see it go away.

Pictures of my new beauty when I can get on the computer. :cry

    Edit...

Ok here she is as I left the dealer

Notice...I had it strapped down so tight I thought I might break a tie-down. LOL!!

I have never had a street bike tied down in the back of my truck and was a little nervous all the way home.

Chris AKA Browneye came down and we rode out to Santa Ysibela and had a free lunch on the house at the casino out there. After we filled our bellies we hit a little two-track.

I am out of the Lake Elsinore area. Hit me up if you want to plan a ride.

Here is a good close up shot

Anybody catch that Triumph commercial During Supercross???
    Well... This is the bike!!
That was the only Triumph commercial I have ever seen...
I was like Yeah!! And during supercross... Nice!!

What's up everybody. I tranplanted to SD in November and have had little time, or direction for a ride. I would like to be kept in the loop for future rides/campouts. My Tiger deserves more than it's daily commute.

    Cheers!

Oh, another Chris on a Tiger?
    Welcome to the asylum. :freaky

You'll have to hook up with the SD group. They ride a lot and plenty of tigers. Kalitrailrider is in Canyon Lake. A lot of them meet in Ramona and ride the mountains down to Borrego.

Will try to remember to post rides here too.

I saw that the last post in this thread was from 2013, but I had to chime in.

I just bought a 2013 Tiger 800xc from a fellow Advrider. I've ridden all different types of motorcycles for the last 15 years, but this is my first 800xc and first adventure bike, and this thing is AWESOME!

Can't wait to take it out on some trails.

If anyone is around the Southern California area and wants to ride, hit me up. I'm in Costa Mesa.

Congrats on the bike...it's a good one.

I don't think most ride only with other Tigers, so likely why the thread died. Watch the LA Adventure and Best Noob Trailride threads for local riding events and group rides.

That said there does seem to be a local group of tigers that are likely to meet up in the near future. Maybe I can point them here and get everybody to post.

I might as well chime in here.

After lusting after one of these for a couple of years, I bought one.

Going to ride it to DVDaze at Furnace Creek, because of my work schedule I plan to leave Riverside about 8 am Friday 30th Jan.

Any other Tiger owners taking their bikes to DV? :ear

^^ No. I would trailer out the husky. :D

There are some alternate rides coming up though, and Kali and I will be doing a day trip from Temecula to Julian here shortly, possibly a couple of more Tigers. Maybe even make it an overnighter. Will post details here when we have them.

CA Stu, that is a good looking bike. I use to have one and it looked just like this one, but I did sell it. It was so smooth on the power band and a blast to ride. I never crashed it or damaged anything but that was sure luck as I took it in some rough areas. This bike is capable of almost anything. :clap

I would probably still have it if changing the air filter wasn't such a pain in the ass................

    Thanks!

I added a UNI pre-filter to save the air filter. :D

WHAT!! Jeff has one too!? I'm so jealous. I'm really hoping to get a big adventure bike in the next few years. It's between a Tiger, Tenere, or a used KTM 950 adventure.

Browneye and I have been kicking around ideas for a ride.
I thought I would post this to gauge interest???

This would be a camp off the bikes ride. We would be camping in primitive campgrounds. So you would need to carry what you need on your bike.

Starting near lake skinner in Temecula ride out behind wine country on legal two track roads and out to sage road. From there maybe up to mt. Palomar and down to lake henshaw. Jump over the 79 and explore the lower CNF and camp out at Indian flats. From there we have a lot of options- our best option I think is to take grapevine down into Anza borrego and then over to borrego springs for gas and food. Then out to fonts point and malipas point. Other cool points of interest include the calcite mine - fish creek and 21 palms then maybe camp at arroyo salado campground.

From there it is about a 2 hour slab ride back to Temecula.
Maybe roll through Julian on the way home for lunch???

Possible dates- browneye likes MLK weekend 1/17 & 18th

Presidents weekend 2/14 & 2/15 would be best for me.

    Just some thoughts...

Lets us know what you think???
