Hey, V2, I was looking for these exact photos over on KTMTalk and they're all gone. It was a beautiful spread. What happened?

Understand. At least it was only small tragedy. That's too bad (for me :cry), though, as your SE build thread has provided much inspiration and many ideas. I should have been quicker. :eek1

I went with the front of airbox option with the CPR. Hoping to use the other area for an underseat storage box later.......

My OEM stock fuel pump lasted 14,203 miles :cry

It had been very weak to prime up when switched on the last few months, so I knew its days were limited :nod

I replaced with another OEM stocker.

I'll prolly put a Dr Bean's kit in my Old pump I took out :scratch

I'm not sold on any Aftermarket pumps & most of em puts out Way Too Much Pressure.

The Vacuum Pump may be ok :dunno

Anything over 1.5psi is OverKill IMHO.

I have never heard of a dr bean mod failure, but have heard problems with all other alternatives.
Also, by taking away electric load from the R/R (ie vacuum pump) doesn't that mean that it may get even hotter?

The bottom end of my pump crapped out with the Dr bean kit. Not the fault of the kit, but just shows that the pump isn't perfect once installed. Running a facet now. Didn't want to deal with a manual fuel shutoff.

    Same in my case.
Electrical erosion isn't the only failure mode.
The internals of the pump can corrode and the piston can stick. In this case you tend to get intermittent failure symptoms. A sharp hit to the pump will free it up for a little while... maybe enough to get you home (as was my case).

Facet was the replacement here too ...

My oem contacts blew up after around 40 kkm. 1st Facet died after just some 20 kkm (probably due to operation with empty gas tank). 2nd Facet has now 60 kkm and just works and works and works

Is there any case that the facet does not corrode due to alternative placement?
Question mainly aimed to river crossers.
