You might want to touch base with Bert Duursma (bert@bertduursma.nl), he can supply the 29ltr tank and exhaust, which would be a good starting point. Bert is the OEM for those tanks, which is the same one Speedbrain were selling.

has anybody come up with a good solution for side impact to the radiators? I have been looking but can't seem to find any radiator braces.

Do you have to replace the complete crank assembly to replace the connecting rod?

Yes, I purchased a piece of aluminium tubing and I cut it to fit between the two lower ears of the radiator. Then I taped the tube's ends so that the side scrowd bolts would fit. Next I marked and cut the plastic radiator guard with an hobby knife so that the tube would seat infront of the guard. I could email you a photo.

In October I tested the setup and it did very well. I did not fair as well breaking my collar bone.

I rode that thing once or twice and sold it. 6 bikes in the garage was more than necessary. Or maybe it was the lack of push button engine start. Who's to say? :1drink

I've been looking at that. Those that have taken their 450, any prep/setup tips?

I've done the Sandblast Rally a few times on my 450. Have to carry a little extra fuel, although last year I don't believe I needed to use the spare gas. The suspension on my bike has been re-valved over the years, but otherwise, you can run the bike in the rally in stock setup.

Thanks. I'll probably have to change to gearing from the looks of the video. I run 14/51 for the woods around here, and rarely get into 4th gear. Might be fun to wind it out on something besides the gravel roads around here. Do you think I can skip the extra fuel if I leave it in low power mode?
