But instead, after 200 miles and 12 hours later, we moved the tag 8 miles to here

Nice Ural Motoranch! Went to visit the wife in NC this weekend. Since the BSA is down there in "winter" storage, no riding this weekend. Came back home and saw your tag and realized it's only 3 miles from here. Thanks! Time to go back and grab some beer.

    Grab!

I had to test some equipment for work today, so that lead me to Carroll County. It was a beautiful, cool morning so I met a coworker on his vstrom and headed north through back roads. My plan after work was to ride to the next tag location, trying to take it more to the west.

One of the things I love about Maryland is all the old, small towns. I've passed through this way on several occasions, but this place always caught my eye:

This was originally the Utz Hotel; the first part of the structure was built in 1793. Unfortunately, the pub is closed Monday and Tuesday. Should've done my due diligence. However, I headed down the street to another tavern. The food was good and the bartender-apparently the owner's daughter-is very good looking.

    Not the tag:

BJ- Was this place in New Market?

It looks really familiar. If so there was a quaint little pie/dessert place I use to visit every time my travels took me in the vicinity.

    Nice area.

YES. I was a frequent patron of Mealey's when I was Married, Ex-in laws favorite restaurant. Been many years so the food may have changed... back in the day it was 4 star. If you haven't eaten there... call for reservation.

What is it about the place with ex's? Mine loved Mealey's too, so we used to eat there often and it was the place to take out of town visitors.

Maybe Mealey's water leads to divorce?

    :rofl

Maybe it's owners of shaft drive motorcycles....
You thought you already got the shaft..... but they had a special one saved for ya.

Figure it's obvious but I'll say it anyway: Mealey's Pub in New Market.

By the way, I had never been there before but it really looks nice! Few more pics:

Every time I go past this house, it makes me think of a general store in a western movie... anyway here's the pics:

And here's the clues: the corner between these two roads is where the the second son of Joseph and Asenath meets the branch of the "hairiest yogi of all". The nearby mountain shares the name with a famous one in Brazil, near Rio.

    EDIT
    Hey Lupin,
Just a wild ass guess, but, Black Dakar?
Looks like it has more ground clearance and longer fork travel than mine.

It started as a lowered GS, I added the Dakar fork internals and shock when I realized how much I enjoy going off paved roads. :D
