Drained the battery by leaving the key in the ign for like two days. Charged it but now it doesn't crank well anymore. Anything I can do to save it or did I kill it?
Lead acid battery's don' t take well to a full drain. Specially if they were not a 100% to start with. Only thing you can do is keep charging it for several hrs. It might, or might not recover.
Mine got a Kaoko Cruise Control! I can't wait to try it on a long ride! http://www.kaoko.com/pCCF900/KAOKO-...-use-with-OEM-steel-back-bone-handguards.aspx
Well a few things since april: Hyperpro springs front, 30k service, my new throttle lock and today scraping off the paint and the rust of my Holan Crashbars... god damn what a shame, after 6 months (or so) of use the paint is coming off and underneath it is rust... Hate it. Well after a whole afternoon of scraping they get a nice rust treatment tomorrow and a new "rustfree" pain ) Well yes they were black... Everything that is unpainted and shiny was covered with rust... PITA. Seems like the welding points are the weak spot of this paint.
5 month and no update? This thread was a great idea, shouldn't die out. Well what I've done in these 5 month: perm air filter, tire change, modified windscreen, new LEDs... Today I did an oil change and broke my dipstick... Fckn plastic thingy. Reaver you don't have a spare by any chance .
Well, today I just rode it to work! Last week I dropped it and smashed my screen! Have just fitted a light protector! New screen on order and shall upload a photo once its on!
DIPSTICK. Is that what you broke? Some people should get the service done at the Dealer. :huh Maybe Touratech sells a dipstick protector?
yeah thanks fixed Nah it was slightly bend and I wanted to bend it back ... Well I still can't jauge my superhuman strength. Well the TT looks like aluminium and is just a bit more expensive than the plastic thingy from BMW. I'll go for that one )
My evil twin purchased two firearms and almost the equivalent value of the rifles in ammunition.... Figure it is only going to get more difficult to procure given today
Today I finished my HyperPro spring swap in the forks, and picked up my daughter from Kindergarten. She thought that was tops.
mate if you just want to post pics go into the right thread. Should be the VERY FIRST on top of the page <label for="rb_iconid_29"></label> that is twice in one day
put 50mm spacer in forks, now 270mm travel fitted tt tank, b&b bashplate, britinia fairing and a 908rr on the rear 18" x 2.5 rim... I need a longer side stand and longer legs
Rode from Billings down to Logan Utah for work on Monday This evening I buzzed up Logan Canyon, what a FUN road. Also, had to break my rule of not going off road when I havnt told someone where Im at (especially with a new 4 month old), but I had too, looked like too much fun, and it was!!! The Tourance I had on the front was sucking though... Kinda like trying to get up on water skis.... Also, probably one of my last longer trips for a while because of the Kid. I am selling her and she is available in fleamarket. I think Im moving to the smaller orange 690 side.... But I will miss her indeed... Ryan
Thanks Spektrum84! Hope you like it!! Installed a Heidenau K69 front tire. The Cdn dist for Heidenau asked me to try it out and give them feedback. Overall a good soft conditions tire. Even though I suspect it wasn't designed with 500lb adv bikes in mind it never did anything unpredictable even on cold damp pavement (didn't push it too hard on that knowing what it's designed for). It doesn't have a thick sidewall so I kept the pressure up (don't need to add any more dings to the rim :eek1) and it still did very well off road. I'll post it in the tire threads. Dave
Poured some Sea Foam in the tank, went for a short last ride of the season, and dropped the oil for the winter storage oil change......what a bummer! It was a great summer/fall though. Will be installing factory adventure racks/panniers, and a Camel Tank this winter. Will also re-spring the forks, and either re-spring the rear shock, or replace it altogether. At first, I thought the suspension would be fine with my 235 lbs, and on the blacktop, it is. Rough roads, and its way too soft. Jeff
Jeff, Where in AK are you and what is the usual riding season. I was going to try and do a trip to Inuvik next summer but my schedule may not permit it so I was thinking about doing a rotation up at Wainwright in Fairbanks (I am military). Get to travel up there and stay for a month etc... hit me up via PM and I will talk with you some more. I have many questions, also looking to maybe move to Wainwright post residency.
