    great photography, eric!

i'm pissed i chose to miss this ride, as my plans on making a ton of dough didn't quite pan out. (only made about half of what i thought i would) but i'm glad you and everyone else did a great job of documenting everything through pics. how did you do those stop motion photos? they turned out great!

    i won't miss next year!

Wow Joel, I can't believe you did Laurel Lakes and Wheeler Ridge as a real n00b. They must have really taken their toll on you and your bike. Lots of rocks. With that single track on the Laurel Lakes ride, it's actually worth dealing with those rocks.

Tom, you would have really enjoyed this trip. The whole weekend was relaxed and drama free. The weather was perfect. We did lots of great riding and it was just the right amount. Hung out with Julie and Rick. Saw lots of LA weekend riders. Got to ride with Jeff and Mike and Tony. Had nice campfires and good food. Thanks Jon.

Sorry the job didn't work out as planned. Those stop action photos are just multiples photos from the same position overlaid in photoshop.

yeah, it's a tough one and i didn't make it all the way to the top of laurel lakes; stucazzo and al did. after dropping the 640A a few times, i gave up and took a ride from one of the jeeps....:hide

eric, i enjoy your potochops so much that i'm going to school to learn photoshop this fall.

somewhere in yosemite, we saw this kid working on his klr
    [IMG]

we were already running late, soon it will be dark. we could just simply take off, but we noticed the poor kid was struggling to fix his flat tire (he said he doesn't know how to do it) but smart enough to ask for help. so we all pitched him to get him going.

thanks mark. i just wish that cameras and helmet cams have a remote switch that can be mounted on the handlebar within finger reach. i don't mind paying extra for that feature.

when we made it across the sierra through tioga, i think it was almost 9 pm. then dinner in lee vining at bodie mike bar-b-q.

back on the road, we thought of rider914 who was camped at lundy lake and just 15 minutes, so, we rode and look for matt. good thing we gave up easily otherwise, we won't find him looking at the wrong place.

rode another 50 miles in the cold night in search of john and jim. john (the smart techie) sent me his spot location and using ersin's i- phone, we were able to google their exact location......boothleg campground...:clap

we got there exactly 12am, where jim and john were rudely awakened....:lol3

we were tired and slept good. next morning....view from my bed
    [IMG]

no sasquatch but had a feeling a conehead was watching me....:D

that is a great place to camp. all the campsites we drove by were full, this one had plenty of available spaces

hi jon, i have a pentax optio camera and contour hd helmet cam....i'm pretty sure no remote for those 2.

probably the hi end cams, that can be an option. so, for now.....all of us taking pics on the fly should be extremely careful.

Here is my 5 day, 1,400 miles, ride to WMRS, Bishop, Lee Vining, Bodie, Walker, Yosemite, Mammoth, June Lake, Grant Lake, Silver Lake, and many more...

    Day 1, Friday:

I took Friday off from work and ready to go at 9 am. It was my first ride with my new Giand Loop Great Basin and that thing was huge inside but not that much on the outside.

I was supposed to meet M1Jeep in downtown LA at 10am, but he was late as usual. :lol3
    [IMG]

Finally he got out right when I was about to melt under the hot downtown sun and we left at 10:30am. 5 Fwy was as usual, some traffic where we had to split lanes.

We met Joel at 11:15 with a 15 minutes delay and had our healthy breakfast at McDonald's. Then hit the road again to meet Perry at Visalia. I think Joel needs some "orange" outfit for that bike.

After a city tour thanks to M1Jeep :D, we met Perry. And it was hot hot hot...

Perry showed us some nice back roads to Hwy 41.

We got gas at Madera Chevron station. But what I didn't know then was I will be fixing my second flat tire in 5 days in very same location. :lol3
    [IMG]

    Salute !!!

Right after we saw a mother deer, and 3 baby ones following her crossing the road, we stopped for gas again. Watch out for Joel's left hand.

Then some fun and twisty Hwy 41 to Yosemite Valley.

    Half Dome lookout
    [IMG]

We went through Yosemite Valley and surprisingly there was no traffic. This is Tiago Pass Road around 9:05pm. It was high (9,494 ft) and it was cold (47.4 degF).

We were down at Lee Vining at around 10:00pm and found a great place to eat. Bar-B-Q sandwich. I cant recall the name and it was not on the GPS either. But I am sure Joel took some picture. :thumb
After the dinner we left and tried to find Matt first, but couldn't. And headed 395 north to meet Jim and John at their camp.
    That's it for day 1.
