I've been wanting to go on this ride for a few years now, and 2008 is it! This year is the ride's 25th anniversary and they say it's going to be a bitchin' year. I'll be doing the Barstow to Vegas section only and it's time to start planning. Rooms at the Ramada in Barstow are booked up, so I'm going to book a room at another motel down the street. Another room will be required (The Orleans Hotel/Casino) for Saturday night in Vegas. I'm looking for other FF's who are going on this ride. :ear

Absolutely. They have the easy way, with optional hard ways. From what I've read and heard, expect lots of sand, and FUN!

Yes I'm in. I've done this a few years in a row now. The first leg of the race...aaah whoops! I mean RIDE is normally pretty good lots of trees (if you can do it). I get a room across from the Ramada. Second day rocks, sand and desert access roads. The hard loop near the end (Red Rock Canyon) probably the best part of the ride. Got a flat tire last year so ended up riding out with the sweep on my ass, but the full moon was awesome! This is alot of fun. I stay with friends and family in Vegas so your on your own there. :ricky
