I understood that both the 12 ltr tank from an LC 4 640 and the KTM 18 ltr tank fits the SXC. You will also need the seat from the LC4 640 though.

As max mentioned, the 18L tank bolts right on and the seat is required, but what a great excuse to upgrade to the "comfort" seat. If you use this tank, you will also need to order a locking gas cap and the appropriate fuel line as it is molded so as not to kink.

18L tank part#58407013400 $369.00
Comfort Seat part#57907340000 $93.95
Gas Cap part#58407008100 $69.64
Fuel line part#58407016000 $4.34

KTM has everthing in stock and available.

I was afraid I would have go that route. I just don't have an extra $500
laying around for a gas tank and seat at the moment. Thanks for the advice and prices.

I've got the IMS on my bike. Had to do some re-molding around the radiators with the heat gun and on the nub on the bottom of the seat. There's a gap between the edge of the seat and the tank that doesn;t look so good. But it does what it's supposed to, hold gas. You'll need to buy some new fuel line to as the petcock is on the other side.

Cheers
Brett

I've also got the IMS on mine. I agree with soloyosh about needing some heat gun work to fit it and the gap at the seat, but at $200 instead of $500 for the KTM 18l, I think its a reasonable option.

Ooof...almost $600 for a tank

dirtrider,

What's the breakdown for the big tank (28l) parts wise? I've been considering that one over the 18l for my '03 SXC.

Xtra capacity, the tank appears to provide some rad protection & its cheaper.

*crickets*

So, what about the Rally tank for the 625?

Cheaper by $40 ($39.05 for Creepy)...

Will this tank bolt up, no problemo?

I know I'll need:
  • Comfort Seat part#57907340000 $93.95
  • Gas Cap part#58407008100 $69.64
What about the fuel line: Fuel line part#58407016000 $4.34?

Here's the huge tank, I can't figure out what the part on the inside right of the tank is for:

I know I'll need:
  • Comfort Seat part#57907340000 $93.95 Make sure its the ADV comfort seat not the SXC / lc4e one
  • Gas Cap part#58407008100 $69.64

Here's the huge tank, I can't figure out what the part on the inside right of the tank is for: Thats the petcock for the cross over fuel line. theres one one the left as well, just above the on/off/res petcock. the indent above that with the 2 screw holes is for thefront mounting lugs.

This will give you an idea of what you need and how it all goes together

[QUOTE=AJ..;21017281]Reviving the thread....again!!

Yet another revival.

I've just got the 18L tank & seat from the Duke 2. The seat locked on the Duke with central pin, somewhere near the rear fender. Any ideas on how to modify this seat to fit the SXC?
