Metzeler Sahara
The new 640 adv @ malcolm smith's had a set of Metzeler Sahara's. Any body had any experience with these tires? They looked more aggressive than Scorpion's.......maybe a good choice for longer road trips.

I ran them on a GS and I loved them. They don't last very long but they're very nice on tarmac and pretty good in the dirt. I was surprised to see them on the 640 Adventure however, they seemed too street oriented for the 640 to me.

I have 2800 miles on a set with my 950. They will go a little over 3000 miles. The stick better than scorpions on hard surface and grip better in dirt, but they go away fast.

I ran a few sets on an airhead GS.
I find the Scorpions far superior in every way. Every way. The Saharas are an old design that wasn't that good when it was new, just the first decent tire in its class. So though I seem to have a little different opinion here, I have to say the fellas all got one thing right: the rear Sahara will evaporate before your eyes. |

I've got the Sahara IIIs on my Baghira. They're great on the street and in the sand but suck in the mud
