Tent Space Sign-Up Thread

Welcome to the Tent Space Sign-Up thread.

The Tent Space is your chance to share your interest in motorcycle travel with other members of this website.

To offer a Tent Space, simply add a reply to this thread. You should include such things as your location, contact information (some people include a phone number or email address), what kind of digs you offer, can you help fix a bike or change a tire? Your approximate location will be added to the Tent Space map.

If you're looking for a place to crash, go to the Tent Space map (located here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=776925) and find someone who's willing to host you. It's best to make contact at least a couple days in advance, but some people can put you up at a moment's notice. You never know.

Contact Jamie Z with any Tent Space questions.

Colebrook, Ontario. Near Kingston. East end of Lake Ontario, on the north shore.

Got a spare double bed, and a garage full of tools (that I actually know how use ). Beer in the fridge. Camping space for about 50.

Warning: 12 year old that will talk your ear off.

dude this is a great idea. i asked about something like this just over a year ago http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84499 but never followed up.

i'm in nyc (riverdale) and i can offer a couch or thermarest. the place is a studio so don't expect a ton of privacy. but one or two people could crash with no problem. plenty of safe on the street parking. safe residential neighborhood just north of manhattan. public transportation to anywhere.

In between houses at the moment so I can only offer a floor to sleep on. Though I do have a well setup garage, tools and a lift for a passing through traveler.

I'm In Atlanta right where 75/85/20 all meet, pretty much in the middle of the city. No tent space but I have a spare bedroom, shower, and a garage with limited tools if needed.

I'm in too...

About 10 miles NW of Terre Haute, Indiana. I've got space for several tents either in the woods or at the edge of a field (we have 16 acres, my folks next door have 70, most of it's wooded). Liquor store is roughly 8 miles distant. I have a small collection of cheap tools and a cheap motorcycle lift in a very cluttered and crowded garage. A little advance notice via email is a good thing, and I don't always check it on the weekends...

Oh yeah, wireless Internets, too..

John

Like it says, I'm just 3 short miles north of Baja in beautiful Chula Vista, California. Futon, huge couch, HDTV in every room, I'll move my car outta my garage for a couple days if you need wrenching, etc.

Uhrichsville, Ohio 44683; just south of New Phildelphia, Ohio; located in east central Ohio, right off of USR 250, USR 36, and SR 800. 30 miles south of Canton, Ohio. About 30 miles north of the major interchange of I-70 and I-77.

BMW dealer 5 miles up the road, Honda/Yam/Kaw dealer 5 miles up the road, non brand affiliated MC repair shop 10 miles up the road.

I live in a city but have yard space for tent camping, a large garage with basic tools, welder available (next door), secure bike storage, a trailer and ramp for roadside emergencies, spare room w/ 2 beds, and couches and floor space available.

Feel free to contact me, even last minute, if you need a place to stay locally.

You can pitch a tent in the yard, but you might have a goat trying to sleep with you.

I also have a futon you can use.

I'm 50 miles west of Chicago in St Charles, Il. I am south of Interstate 90 and east of Interstate 39. I have space for camping, a garage with lift and tools for repair, and a trailer to help haul you if you need it ( sometimes ). Well versed on the whole northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin area. Have a Honda dealer 5 miles away, Yamaha about 20 miles, a BMW dealer about 25 miles away and a Kawasaki about 20 miles away.

I'm in Cary, NC (outside of Raleigh). Plenty of yard space for a tent, as well as a spare bedroom. I've got a garage you can park the bike in. I can also provide the food and beer.

Stop by anytime.

I'm in TJ (that is... Tijuana), la libertad section, west side of the airport. 4 bedrooms, plenty of room for a few. I have some tools, but not much, I know a few local bike shops here in TJ + there is one under 10 miles away in the US.

EDIT 02 Jun 2011. I don't live in that big house anymore, but I can offer a place to sleep, fewer tools than last time, and still close to the Otay Mesa Border Crossing.

EDIT 20 Mar 2012. I'm building out my tools and space again. I have capacity for most repairs, compressor, a few spare (used) knobbies, work bench, lighting, couch and TV.

EDIT 21 Mar 2013. I'm now located in Herlong, CA, 1 hour north of Reno, NV. I have tools, garage and a fridge to store your beer. I still have a place in TJ that is available, but only to sleep for a night.

IN - what a great idea!!! Thanks for organizing it.

Fairfax, VA - 1/2 mile from the Orange Line Vienna metro station & on-ramps to I-66.

Unfortunately, the most I can offer nowadays - I live in an apartment now - is a safe place to keep your bike for a few days and maybe a hot meal & a shower. Happy to help you out as much as possible if you're in a pinch, though, so don't hesitate to get in touch.
