I'm on the road to nowhere, Jemez trail surfing.

After West fest there were some requests to have next year’s Western Adventure Riders rally somewhere in New Mexico. At the time I was worried about our trails down here. There are plenty of trails. With riding for all skill levels and types of bikes. But we just don't have the high mountain pass type of stuff. None of the Jemez is above the tree line. I said that I would do some riding this summer and post photos of prime riding in the Jemez. Then you can decide if this area is of Adv Rally quality.

Today I took the 525 out for a bit of a ride.
I started off on some single track. The Jemez is wet the single track is hard riding right now. With all the exposed roots my front tire was kicking out on everything.

It wasn't long before I jumped off the single track and hit some forest roads.

The forest service claims to have thousands of miles of this stuff in the Jemez. I am not going to argue with them on this. I could have ridden for ever jumping from one trail to the next. Riding on the road to nowhere.

I was constantly having to make choices like this one here. The FS road came to a Tee and the straight option was single track.

I picked this one. As you can see FS roads like this can ridden by the larger GS. I've had mine up there several times. This place is a maze with these roads.

It wasn't long before I found some ski trails. Whoa here we go again.

Shortly after that I popped out on a FS road.

And it wasn't long after that I was back on single track.

The single track here is very technical. You can ride it fast if you don't mind bouncing off trees.

More forest roads for the bigger bikes.

I've never seen the Jemez this green. Just a month ago we thought that we might burn up.

With all the rain the mushrooms are popping up every where. Are mushrooms like poison dart frogs? That is the brighter the color the more toxic they are?

A little hill clime. Even wet pumas sucks.

Potential camping area. The only problem is that there isn't a shower or a shitter within 30 miles of here. But it sure looks nice. Great photo op.

Well people I hope to be posting many more photos of this area thought the fall. Then if a site has not been picked for next years rally. I might put forth a proposal. So if you really like what you seen let me know.
