My first long ride
Okay, so 96 miles isn't all that long to most of you but for me to go that far and not drop it is a long ride. Had an awesome time and can't wait until 96 miles is a drop in the bucket as a ride for me.
Here is a pic when I got home (sorry still doing good to not drop it much less try to take pics also). Ignore the hair. Helmet hair sucks. |

Excellent work! My wife is a beginning rider, so I kind of know through her what you're going through. We rode 90+ miles a couple of weeks back, and at this point I think just having the time to do a decent ride is all that's holding her back. Nice bike, too. My wife wants a V-Strom at some point, but for now her bike is an old Honda that she is proud to have not dropped yet. I've dropped my KLR more than once and am not proud. ;)

Nice bike! Congrats on the ride. It seems there are always proverbial mountains to climb. I finished a 280 mile breakfast ride, 'bout rubbed my back raw from patting it
, and then some friends did a 820 mile lunch ride! So keep at it. Play with the bike's setup to make it even more comfortable, ask questions here, and, before you know it, that'll be the one way distance for you!

Thanks guys. I am looking forward to doing some rides where I look back and go 96 miles, nothing. But small steps. The bike is awesome. It fits me perfectly even though it's tall. I couldn't have picked a better one.

Welcome! There are a lot of V-Strom riders over in the Beasts forum if you want to see what some others are doing.
