Yikes, I guess he was ok.

What would cause the bike to go up in flames like that? I know stock cars burst in flames when they have the fuel pump knocked off in a crash, but he was just riding.

Jeez, looks like the gas tank itself was on fire, no flames around the engine.

The manual clearly states that if the bike is operated at speeds less that 170 MPH for extended periods of time, it will overheat and fire could result. Further inspection revealed that your faring, fuel injection system, rods, pistons, and exhaust system were all aftermarket. Also, you were using the bike in a closed-circuit contest of speed, voiding the warranty.

Tough shit.

His filler-cap hadn't been replaced properly, as he hit the brakes fuel sloshed out of the tank.......you can see the rest. Apparently when he stopped sliding he was sure he was on fire himself.

He did an interview for MCN about it.

Don't be an impulse buyer... afterall you have time..
