thanks for your work on the tent space list BTW

it seems to work, but how many are really taking advantage of it?

I've talked to a lot of riders that have. LR and I used it ealier this year when we headed to the east coast.

First off, I want to say "Thanks" to Geode for the idea and implementation of the tent space list.

Ben & I hosted our first ADV'er last night because of the tent space list, and we've previously allowed a group to park at our property and use that as a starting point for their TAT ride. We're looking forward to the day where we will be able to travel and use the list ourselves.

My only suggestions would be to possibly make a short questionaire for posters to list their facilities ie: garage space, sleeping options, pets, kids, etc... This could be a voluntary edit for members already on the list, and edited into the original post.

I do somewhat agree with the personal contact issue. There have been a few instances recently where stranded riders have needed help and it would have been handy to be able to contact the members who've already volunteered assistance, without depending on them being online. Would it be possible to put together a contact list that would be distributed to maybe moderators, and select inmates only? Voluntary of course.

I would be more than happy to help out with this if it were to come about.

As per Charla's idea about the info, what about having a contact person or two in a geographical area with five or six member numbers. Then the members they call will have five or six more numbers, etc. It kind of works that way now. When Tuckers broke down near Green Bay, I had FREEFLOW's number and called him to alert him to the situation. He then took care of it. It took all of five minutes.

It doesn't even have to be by area. Just have half a dozen numbers in your phone, call or post to see if anyone has a number for somewhere near you.
