DR650 Fuel Cock repair
Are there any aftermarket parts to repair a leaky petcock on A DR650?
I just replaced the upper gasket and washers on the attaching bolts, while I had it apart for a valve adjust. It looks like it may be leaking around the valve handle. |

Suzuki doesn't offer a rebuild kit, only a whole new petcock. I guess I could have taken the damn thing apart to see if I could replace an o-ring or gasket or what ever, but I didn't want to fuss with it. I also could have replaced it with a Pingel, but I'm so used to vacuum petcocks I ended up getting another stock one. Babbit's had one for around $55 plus shipping, IIRC. |

I've taken others apart and they are usually very simple and new o-rings usually do the trick.

I've taken them apart and use a small file on the mateing gasket surface. They're pretty warped. Will seal better. Hope this helps.

I replaced the leaking stock vacuum petcock on my DR350 with a non-vacuum one from a '99 Yamaha WR400. Cost only $16 from RonAyers.com.
I believe it will work on the DR650 too, but I am not sure.
