GPS data transfer Question

When transfering tracks from 276C to my PC I have found that in some tracks the 'elapsed time & Avg. speed' does not show at all in PC , what do I have to do in order to get this info in all tracks.
Thanks in advance

I am going to make an educated guess here as I don't have my gps handy. I believe if you save an active track on your GPS you will lose the time and speed information. This is because the track is being truncated from several thousand track points to about 500. The time and speed inforrmation will be available in the active log. If you can avoid saving a track on your GPS you will retain all this information. Unfortunately this will become a problem on multiday trips. You can try adjusting you track point drops to longer distances which could probably get you through several days of travel on a 10,000 point track log.

Jim, you are totally correct. I quit saving named tracks in the GPS for that reason. Much better to set the track point frequency on an interval which budgets the trip. Something like 10,000 points / (5 days x 8 hours) = 1 track point every 15 seconds.

I always do a dump of mine when I get home. Though I will have to admit that when I was out West for Westfest, I did just save it. Having the speed info, etc. was not as important as having the track. I wanted the precision of closer points more than the speed data so I just left it set to my normal settings.

Or if you have a 60Cx you just log it to the data card and forget about it
