Until the end of the world - RR now in Patagonia...
Hi guys,
Since 2005 I'm trying to cross all the latitudes possible from Nordkapp in Norway to Ushuaia in Argentina. Here is one photo diary. In 2005 we made it from Lisbon to Guinea thru Dakar; in 2006 we made from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil to Ushuaia comming back thru Atacama desert in Chile. 2007 we crossed the Amazon jungle starting in Caracas Venezuela until Rio de Janeiro again passing Machu Pichu and Bolivia. Next June we are heading to Scandinavia to end this trip. In 2005 we made the Lisbon - Guinea trip: We crossed Marroco ![]() Western Sahara ![]() Mauritania.. ![]() Gambia.. ![]() some rivers... ![]() Senegal... ![]() arrived to Guinea... ![]() and celebrate ![]() Then in 2006 we pack everything and went to Rio de Janeiro... ![]() ![]() we head to Iguaçu falls.. ![]() crossed Uruguay ![]() ...and Patagonia in Argentina... ![]() thru the Andes... ![]() until the end of the world... ![]() in the way back we passed Southern Chile... ![]() and the Atacama Desert near Bolivia... ![]() back to Rio de Janeiro... ![]() and celebrate again ![]() Work for 9 months, and in 2007 back to South America, this time Caracas in Venezuela, in the same parallel as Guinea... ![]() we start heading South to the forest... ![]() there are nice restaurants in Venezuela ![]() And very nice people to!! ![]() In the forest we had some surprises.. ![]() ![]() and great hotels... ![]() already in Brazil we passed the equator... ![]() just before enter the Amazon jungle ![]() were we where not very welcome.. ![]() ![]() Fortunately in the Amazon Jungle was the dry season... ![]() the weather was nice... ![]() the bikes were perfect ![]() and we really felt comfortable in the middle of the jungle ![]() sometimes we had some difficult times... ![]() but other times were just fun, fun fun... ![]() Then we enter Peru... ![]() here was really dry season ![]() and we started to climb the Andes ![]() and saw the Peru treasures ![]() ![]() It was cold in the Bolivian Antiplano ![]() ![]() so we decided to descend from the Andes ![]() back to the tropics... ![]() there are nice restaurants also in Bolivia ![]() and but we were dieing for one Brazilian beef, so we accelerated... ![]() witch was not a good idea... ![]() to get to the Brazilian "Pantanal" ![]() ![]() to meet some new friends ![]() ![]() ![]() before arrive to Rio de Janeiro ![]() and celebrate again ![]() you can see a small video of my last trips in youtube Now, to complete my goal I have to go now to Nordkapp. I plan to make that trip crossing Europe to Norway and then explore the Artic Circle area in Sweden and Finland before return to South. I’m looking for dirt roads in Norway, Sweden and Finland, if anyone have some advices, GPS tracks or good waypoints I will really appreciate thanks cazevedo screwed with this post 12-04-2009 at 04:22 AM |

That mud doesn't look like much fun. I can just imagine the sweating and yelling going on trying to get the bikes out.
Thanks for the photos, that was great. ![]() bogey78 |
