November south island

Thinking of doing a South Island ride with some friends, probably mid November (not a great deal of flexibility with when we go). Is this a crap time weather wise, not factoring in the drought you are having at the moment

Should be pretty good but it will be a bit more changable than late Jan Feb. Any time of year you should be prepared with wet weather gear in NZ. Our weather changes very rapidly due to us being a narrow strip of land.

Dude ... i rekon it's the best time to visit ... the magots (camper vans) aren't out in force, like they are at the moment + if you time it right you can get to enjoy the best M/C event NZ's got to offer ... www burtmunrochallenge.com

Depends how adventurous you want to get too, because there's usually still a lot of snow melt then with rivers running reasonably high.
