An X-Challenge, Husky and 640 go to Tahoe

Unlike many of you, I'm not much of a writer. In fact, I'm not much of a talker either. I'm a fairly quiet person who has enjoyed a couple of years of great trip reports and simply wants to add my small piece.

The premise behind the trip was to invite my buddies to our cabin for a weekend of riding our bikes in something other than an OHV park, like in San Jose.

Adam is on the Husky, Justin is on the 640.

We arrived in Tahoe at about 10pm and unloaded the bikes.

The bikes go beddy bye....

Morning comes and like you've seen in other reports; Polish boys like to show off their muscles...

The wife takes a pic before we leave and tells the boys that if I come back hurt they better not come back.

about 3 mies from the house we hit dirt and a small lake. We literally don't know where to go...We've never seen such open spaces that you can ride through. It's just a free-for-all...

I try to show the boys an old settlement (which we never even took a picture of), but all Adam does is complain that we're taking "gravel highways" and he wants to hit technical trails...

A pic of two of us before the bitch on the Husky took off.

Some drama as Justin gets stuck in the bog.

Husky biatch decides that he is gonna lead us...even though he's never been here before or has any clue where he's going...and guess what...he manages to find a tough single track that eventually disappears.

I
Nice riding - thanks for the pics. That area was my motorcycle learning paradise in the 1970s. on my 2 smokes yami YZ125 DT175 and a KDX175
The lake is called Prosser Reservoir and the settlement was Hobart Mills.
I lived at Hobart ages 0 to 5, 1960/65 then we moved to town - Truckee. A lot of cool logging history in the area. Cheers

Yes, Prosser Reservoir. I saw a sign for it, but did not know the settlement was Hobart Mills. Thanks for mentioning it. Wow, so you grew up in the Truckee area and now your in Chile?!? Pretty cool!

Yup, went to UNReno, got into mining and have worked in CA, NV, CO, UT, ID and Chile, Peru, Venezulela and the Domincan. The world keeps getting smaller. You should ride the Martis Peak area - if access is still open. Try to go Martis to Grey Creek - good single tracks. Or Coldstream to Tinker Knob to Hwy 89. Or Weber Lake to White Rock to Jackson Loop. Or Serene Lakes to the Cedars to Forest Hill to Auburn and back - lots of places to go. Have fun
