Finally got one (check your tires!)

Well i finally got an 06 tourist with low miles in great shape

Had serious buyers remorse initially but this weekend I gave her some love in the form of an oil change front to back and installed some knee gaurds or whatever they are called and had a nice ride with the dog (picked up some doggles too). I promise to post a pic with the dog soon.

So I'm in the garage talking on the cell phone to one of my few freinds left since this MC thing took hold and I look down at the rear tire on the Ural and saw something very disturbing especially since I have been as fast as 55 - 60 on this thing........

Is this unusual? It really does not look like a cut it looks like a mfg defect and goes right down to the cord.

So remember look over those tires and check the pressure. Belive me I look over the rest of em.

maybe it's just the photo, but to me it looks like a bald tire long overdue for replacement and that is prbably a slice but in anycase with a tire that worn, you couldn't lay the fault on the manufacturers doorstep, IMHO

Is that one of them there fancy cupped sand tires??

That thing looks like it's served the bike well....I agree with Red, throw another one on asap and keep enjoying the bike.

Yes the picture was meant only to show the cut or whatever it is. The tire actually has plenty of tread but......I have already ordered a new tire.

Just find it hard to imagine what could lay it open like that.
