Cost of suspension refresh
2004 LC4 - can someone give me some idea of approximately what a shop will charge me to rebuild both the front forks or the rear shock. The rubber donut on the base of the rear shock is bulging out (looks like the L5 disc in my lower back) and needs attention for sure - maybe thats all it needs. I figure I could get the whole suspension rebuilt to my specs (210 lbs) but don't want a $1k bill on a $4k bike if you know what I mean. The KTM rebuild kit for the front shocks is almost $300 by itself!
If there are any recommended shops in the Atlanta area I would like to know - I rely on the dealer in Woodstock for my needs typically. Thanks |

No idea on what someone will charge you, but the dealer will probably be the most expesnive place.. You can just pull it all off the bike and send it somewhere if you can't find a local suspension shop.. If your suspension is really shot, having it re-worked will make it feel like a whole new bike.. Could be money well spent to have it all redone for your weight.. You can PM Zerodog and see what he charges, I know he's done quite a bit of suspension work on LC4's.

I do a lot of LC4 boingers and here is my pricing. Dealers will charge tons and usually do some of the worst suspesion service. Shops that specialize in suspension will give you more service for a better price.
Fork service $85 + parts Fork revalve $135 includes service Fork revalve including midvalve mods $185 includes service Shock service $85 + parts Shock revalve $135 includes service. |

So it sounds like I will be in for about $500 plus springs if I don't revalve?
Thanks to all |
