Yet another Mapsource Question

HAVE: Garmin GPSMAP 60 CSX

I wanted to add the City Navigator.

Common logic would lead you to believe that the only "City Nav." DVD that Best Buy, Walmart, Target, or any other retailer would stock would be the one you need.

WRONG!!

So, I have a $60 2009 update disk that does me no good without the base program. Ok fine, I feel like Jodi Foster in "The Accused" once again and Best Buy is on the giving end.

Ok, I'll just run out and buy the base program then.............WRONG!!!

This program is a mythical program that cannot be purchased or downloaded without help of the CIA. I cannot fin the base program anywhere and need to use the GPS in a few days. What are my options here?

This is what you need. Note the part #.

So, it sounds like you need an original version of City Nav - not and Update.

GPS City.com, TVNAV.com, Amazon.com, West Marine, REI, etc. all have them.

No retailer in this area had it. I called Garmin and they were awesome (as usual). Problem solved!!

If you don't mind, could you tell us what Garmin's solution was?

I'll admit to having the same frustration. Why is CN (the base program) so hard to locate? I have found a few online places to order it from, but I had originally been hoping to get it at a brick and mortar store.
