2nd Ride to Pioneer Town (Socal) 4/4/09

It's time to do it again! Last years Report: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=328355

Here is the plan: Meet at the Gas Station next to McDonald's off the 15 fwy and hwy 138 @ 7:00. Head out to Pioneer Town. If you have never been there is a cool little town with a unique restaurant/bar. Here is the link if you want the check it out: http://www.pappyandharriets.com/. The food is good and the drinks are cold! I plan on going at a good pace in order to make it there and back in a reasonable time. I plan on doing as much dirt as possible. If you plan on going I suggest having a 100 mile range mim. Everyone is welcome to go and no one will be left behind. Knobbies are suggested and a C+ riding skill is recommended. (Plan on doing 140 miles+) If some people don't want to do the loop going back you can take the fwy back home from Pioneer Town.

This year snow may be an issue so the route may have to be modified a bit. I plan on trucking the 950 and 400 out to the 15fwy & 138. Ride out to Pioneer Town and head back to-wards the 15fwy/138. At some point on the way back I'm going to break off and head back up to Arrowhead for the night. I will make sure everyone will make it back to the meeting spot or fwy before I peal off. We had a great ride last year and this is one of my favorite rides.

Here is Riceless's report and pic of last years ride!:http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=329809

I am a D- rider and probably on the wrong bike for your ride (Strom), but was planning a trip up through Yucca Valley to Pioneertown and see how far I can go on Burns Canyon road toward Big Bear in the next few weeks. Will keep an eye out for fellow ADVer's.

Sorry Razor but I Sunday would be to long of a day. I don't want to be in a hurry to get home. I plan on make a full day of this ride so Sunday will be my day of rest!

I think I'm going to change the start time to 8:am. That will give us 4 to 5 hours to make it to Pioneer Town for lunch. Then we have another 4 hours to make our way back. For those that need to their will be many places to bail and hit the highway.

For those of you that have never ridden in this area I think you will be in for a treat. If the weather holds up and stays warm I think we will have some great riding conditions.

I'm also busy on the 4th, riding moto-support on the VStrom for a half Ironman in Oceanside. I could be convinced to do this route on the 5th. Wanna go?

Hmmmmmm

This is a definite "maybe." Just depends on how many SAU's ( Spousal Approval Units) I deplete going to the races this weekend and what bus man duties (for son's lacrosse team) I have next weekend.
