Atlanta - Barber Motorsports route advice

Anyone here have any advice on the best (=most fun) route between ATL and Barber? I hate Interstates, avoid them as much as possible., would like to ride rural roads, the smaller the better.

Thanks.

If you don't mind criss-crossing, google Tsalagi Trails, south of Talladega. Also, Hwy 281 through the Talladega National Forest is nice...

Don't have much good input further west, sorry.

Close to Barber, 78 between Chula Vista and Leeds in pretty nice. 281 through Cheaha SP is always a favorite, but the North end is spotty chip-seal. 25 from Harpersville into Leeds is fun. 148 from Millerville into Sylacauga is pretty good IIRC. 49 from Lineville into Cheaha is fun. 48 from the line over to Lineville is scenic. From Atlanta to the sate line... 166 from 92 over to Carrollton is always nice, then 27 down to 5 and across to 48 at the line. Or you could break south off 166 on 5 down through Whitesburg and over.

Theres lots of good roads to the North of 20, but youd be going farther out of the way.
