Question Front tire vibrate 990

Is it normal that the front wheel vibrates when I take my two hands of the handle bars.

There is no vibration when I ride with two or one hand.

Could it be due to the Pireli tires or could it be that the wheel is off balance.

Sorry it is a 990 08 with 350km

Either or both. The Scorpion is apparently not made to exacting spec's and there are many complaints about vibrations emanating from it, though usually not until they have a few thousand on them.

You might also try various suspension adjustments - all the ADV are factory undersprung at the front. Set the SAG, and make sure your wheels are all running true and in line etc. - it may not have been well set up by your dealer.

Whilst riding along, try standing up on the pegs and looking down at the front wheel. You will easily see if the tyre/wheel is true.

My original Scorpion was fine but the replacement was not. I aquired the same vibration as you from about 40Kmh upwards. It was/is so bad at above 75Kmh that I daren't take both hands off the bars.

Defective or poor quality front Scorpions are a common problem. Search this site and you will see.

My dealer, who supplied the tyre, never took the problem seriously and would not replace it. I even had my front wheel trued, tensioned and balanced and the vibration and tyre wobble are still there.

Hi there veryone ,

i have exactly the same shaking problem on the front wheel , i tried everything but it is still there , i just got used to it and forgot about it knowing that is quite a common fact on this model.

I just look forward some other tire maker offrers another tire possibility for my 990 ADV.

Rgds all

I got one with the shakes and I've put 3k on it. Looking down at the front tire the treads weave back and forth as has been said. I'll ride it out and put on new rubber.
