Remus

Get a Remus system... I would also get the re-mapping set up as well... Check with the Remus U.S. distributor in the CA Bay Area, he will set you up

slip on = waste of money

Best bang for the buck: Remove stock exhaust can and replace with one of those chromed exhaust "tips" from auto parts store. The cat still attenuates sound so that it's not annoyingly loud but you will have a deeper, fuller sound. Other advantage is you can really show off the single sided swingarm and use a full size left system case!

For the most performance you want a full system with Y-pipe and remapped chip. Serious $$$ though. There is some backfiring with it too.

I like this Idea, (especially if it saves some cash) Is there a "tip" online I can take a look at?

Laser.
Deeper, throatier, not obnoxious. Wonderful.
A little bump in the mid-range.
Stock issue on the '05 Boxer Cup.

I ran mine with a stright pipe extension for a while. Sounded much better. I also had a Supertrapp on there, which I opened up and took some baffles out.

The PO of my 2004 RR put a stainless steel tip on, I ran with it for awhile, went back to the stock exhaust for awhile, then picked up a ztechnik titanium can with y-pipe. With the lowering bracket it fits with two full size cases, gets the heat of the cat out from under the tranny...best of all worlds? Have to repack it every 6k...haven't done it yet but I suppose that any dirtbike shop can do it because a pneumatic rivet gun isn't exactly in my bag of tools. Ztechnik makes all kinds of wild claims about what it does...take it all with a grain of salt.

What windscreen is that on the boxercup RR?

Old history, lemme try'n remember:

I ran mine with the 'CAT, without the 'CAT & the Remus Y-Pipe in place. I ran it with a chrome exhaust tip on the end of the 'CAT. I ran it with a straight through burned out CF shell of a can on the end of both the 'CAT and the Remus Y-Pipe. I ran it with the Remus and a Supertrapp can on the end with 12 discs then 9.

All said, it ran it's absolute best when I had the Supertrapp and Remus Y-pipe w/7 discs.... back-pressure gives it good low end and mid range, but it's still able to bark at the top.

It also ran it's absolute best when I kept the 'CAT on, but added my burned out straight through CF can on the end of it.... STRAIGHT THROUGH!

Don't expect to gain much power, 4 hp at the most. I got my most power with a K&N in place and riding the bike like it was a two stroke race bike.... but the outdated fuel injection they used on those bikes learned my aggressive riding habits.... performing well on the open road at WOT, but bucked & surged in town at low rpm.

I loved that bike. Two years and 60,000 miles later I sold it because I feared a final drive failure or fouling problem, and I didn't have an extended warranty. Run good oil in the rear end, change it often, keep it adjusted, and put 5 ounces of Seafoam in the gas tank every 2,000 miles.... and ride the shit out of it! At 55,000 miles they start to shift reeeal nice.

Thanks Fighter, ...I had it done at a quality paint shop.
The " 112 " is actually painted on and was my Duacti Club # used for track days.
The Laser is a slip on only. As you can see via the pic, the CAT was removed which in itself, pared about 10 pounds of weight. The can equaled another couple of pounds saved. If i remember correctly, the can came with a new chip. I arranged it all through my BMW dealer.

I had a full Remus on my 1150R. Muffler, and cat replacemant pipe. It is the same system as the 1150GS, and GSA.

I also had an upgraded chip as well.

I believe it definately made more power, especially in the mid range.
Made good rollon power, and wasnt real loud unless you wound it out thru the gears.

Great bike, I might have to get another one

Try this. $22 solution. I take back my suggestion on the chromed tip. Get stainless so you don't have a rusting problem.
