Car show on the park strip - move along, nothing to see here!

This past Sunday some local hot rod or car collector club (Midnight Sun something something) hosted a "do you have a car? bring it" car show on the Park Strip in downtown Anchorage.

A wide variety of cars, a bit of something to please everyone. There was a row of 3 or 4 Ferraris, I didn't take any pics because I'm not some Magnum P.I. wanna be. I only took pictures of what interested me.

But I thought it fascinating what made it up here and is tucked away in various garages.

Some GM products. A sweet Grand Prix.

A Riv.

Nope. About the only Chevys I looked at was the '79 L88 Stingray my friend found in a garage about 2 months ago and cleaned up, it's now his daily driver, and the Impalas that my other friend kept dragging me over to see.

Some very nice Microbuses were there.

And some not so nice.

I have no idea what kind of conversion this is, or where the bus was manufactured. Jon? Anybody?

About 1/3 of the Beetles that were there.

This was over by the Brit sports car club guys.

This was over there, too.

I kept an eye out for wagons; not much there but this caught my eye.

I think this was AMC's lone representative.

BMW Isetta. They came in 250, 300 and 600CC models. There are very few of the 250 and 300CC models surviving AFAIK. They used the BMW Airhead for the engine. Very cool cars IMHO. Nicknamed the "rolling egg".

I did an engine removal, overhaul and install on one about 12 years ago, came to have a love/hate relationship with it . If I found one that needed love, I'd buy it.

I don't think I've ever seen one before. I've seen Falcons, and I believe at one point the Ranchero was Falcon-based, but I don't know what this is or what it is called - other than it looks like a Falcon.

More pics coming...

It's a Falcon Sedan Delivery. I've only seen one other one.
