Can anyone recommend a bike shop in San Diego

Hi guys,

Currently on the road, and completed my 19,000th mile as I rode into San Diego (Rubber Trampin' on the ride reports), with the aim of getting down to Argentina over the next few months.

I'm not in a rush and have a few days to stick around and find a decent place where I can get the bike looked over, order a few parts if required and prepare myself for the ride down.

I'm on an '02 Yamaha XT600E.

Done a quick search on google so have a few options... is there anywhere you guys would recommend?

Appreciate any response.

Ben

I don't know of a great one, but I can tell you House of Motorcycles is pretty lousy. You may want to check on parts for the bike ahead of time - I could be wrong, but I don't recall yamaha having imported the XT600 to the US in recent years.

good luck!

Thanks for the tip, I'll cross that one off the list... unless someone says otherwise...

Yeah, I think the stopped importning the bike to the States in the mid-ninties - I've had problems previously and had to wait around, but what I'm after is hopefully pretty common...?

Fingers crossed.

I've not used them myself, but lots of my buddies highly endorse them. If I was to use a shop, they would be my first stop.

I've always gone to South Bay Motorsports in Chula Vista - an google search will turn up their website. They're a big dealer and I realize a lot of people don't like taking their bikes to dealers, but I've always used them and never had a problem.

Okay, I did have a problem with some work they did on a rear drum brake, but I took the bike back to them and they fixed their mistake.
