Barts Adventure Photos

I was sifting through a few photos, and decided it was a waste leaving them clogging up my hard drive. I thought I may as well do a blatant rip off of Marks thread 'Maungakotukutuku Diary' (with his permission, as he features in a lot of these photos), and start a kind of diary of my own. Not having an english teachers vocabulary, I'll let the pictures do the talking.

A bit of background. I've been riding bikes for 30 years in one form or another. Farm bikes, dirt bikes, road bikes, and now somewhere in between. The photography thing is quite recent. I'm an absolute novice, but living in a country this beautiful (New Zealand), it's pretty hard to stuff it up. Yeah, I'm that guy who stands around with a camera, taking pictures instead of helping out when the going gets tough.

These may not be technically brilliant photos, but they stand out to me. I like photos that tell a story. I'll keep updating as I get more 'worthy' shots. With a bit of luck, I may improve over time.

If anyone objects to any of these photos, let me know and I'll pull them. Any comments are welcome.

I'll start with one most of you may recognise

The Canon A*** range seem pretty good with the exposure problems.
I can pick up a couple from Cash n Trade to have a play with. Probably about $150 for a good'un.

Did'ya get the dyno extractor fan sorted?

Office lady there says "this Fran guy has owed a bit for a while", Bill says "we probably owe him more"

I'll be out Richmond way Thursday so could score a couple of cameras to play with over the weekend.

Jeez you take some good pics Bart.
Unfortunately if the KLR gets more than 3 degrees off centre over she goes

I didn't get many shots of Wade in motion. He's a bit quick on that 530. I'm going to have to sharpen up on my fitness to keep ahead of him (yeah right).

Still might put a larger fuel tank on the 530

But, you would cease to be my friend

The WAR ride

This is a ride I missed last year due to family reasons . Wasn't going to miss it for the world this time.

Bugs managed to get us access to the army training grounds around Waiouru. What a spectacular place.

Friday - we took the scenic route, Takapari Road

Awesome scenary, but we were heading into clouds higher up

Gav playing in a puddle

On the way back out

Once at Waiouru, we decided we had enough daylight for a little hoon

First we had to be briefed on what to look for. Avoid these...

The riding was unreal

Looking towards Tongariro

amazing sunset

Picture of the day - Mark playing on a dry lake bed
