Problem with EasyGPS/ Etrex Vista

I set up the program for a Vista at 9600 baud, which is the only choice. When I hit "send to GPS" and select the tracks and points I want, it starts and then I get a "GPS Error" window which says "This program received data it could not understand". Anyone have an idea?

Set both to NMEA or Garmin protocol so they match, maybe? Anything else listening on that serial port (or quasi-serial port?)

EasyGPS should be capable of using the Garmin protocol, i'd go with that instead of NMEA.
