I wondering what would be a good race radio setup for offroad racing? I would like to let the pits know I am coming. Has anybody used them before?
Any good info would help. or a system that you have used or using.

PCI and McKenzie's are the only 2 quality setups I know of.

McKenzie's, http://www.helmetkits.com/, is were I bought my stuff a few years ago.

PCI however, is owned/ran by Bob ''The Weatherman" Steinberger, I believe. Someone who gives alot back to the offroad racing sport.

Check out www.ruggedradios.com , too. I have two Baja Designs kits that have been working well.

Do not cheap out on this, either spend the big bucks or don't but the halfway measures fail often.

My 0.02 is that radios are an un-necessary expence that unless you are in the top three aren't going to gain you more than a few seconds at each pit, at best. Added weight and complexity of using radios creates more distraction than positive effect. SCORE and BITD allows radio use, some like AMA does not allow radio use. What series are you racing?
