I thought it might be a fun idea to start a thread with the last four VIN numbers and location of the 30th Year bikes. Then we can see who and where and how many are actually out there!

Mine is:

5743 New York Purchased at MaxBMW Troy, NY

30 Year Anniversary

I am getting mine tomorrow!, Can't wait! Picking it up from Atlantic Motorrad, Cape Town, South Africa.

Mine is a full spec without ESA, as we are not getting the ESA on the 30Year

I have a 27th Anniversary GSA can I play?

I can't believe no one posted I pic of the 30th Anniversary color scheme. Anyone got a good side view pic?
I like the White, red, blue but wish they would have made it a bit more, a real paint job in place of decals.

Question Black or Silver Panels

At first I liked the silver panels for two reasons:
1) original marketing photos set my mind up
2) it looked almost white and made the tank look unified

But I have begun to like the black better because:
1) shows more contrast with the white tank and red seat
2) seems somehow more appropriate as GS w/ other black parts
3) is not confused with white
4) it's what I've got

Anybody else have an opinion? Seems random as to what bikes were black or silver paneled. Some are US and some are not...any ideas as to why? Was it just what they were using in the regular production line that week?

Thoughts?

One is the Rennsport version, the other is the limited edition.

I read somewhere that the early GSA30s had the black panels as seen in some of the promo shots but it was a mistake and they should have had silver ones!

I really like the black panels but my 'factory order' september delivery GSA30 came to Scotland with the silver panels.

Guess i'm only a 'rattle can' away from the darkside if I decided to change.

but then again 'you can't polish a turd'.............!

FP.
