The KDX thread
I did not see a dedicated thread to these popular trail machines, so I thought that I would attempt to start one. I have an '04 200, with a BD dual sport kit on it. It performes much better in the tight trails we have here in New England than my DR650.
This is my 2nd "H" series KDX, and the only bike I have ever purchased twice. I like them that much. Any other KDX riders here?

I've owned 2 of them. A 200 and a 220. The only reason I got rid of the 220 is because the USFS is closing all of the trails around here and you can't get around without a license plate.

I have a '98 220 with plated with a Revloc clutch. With the auto clutch it is like having a trail bike and trials bike in one package.
It is a great trail bike the way it is set up, but living in a large Metro area I don't ride it as much as I should, especially since I bought a WR250R. I guess I will have to take mine for spin this weekend.

Kdx 200
I had a 1994 and a 1993 KDX200 for my daughters. Sold 1 when she got a CRF450r and the other stayed in the stable until I lent it to a friend. Friend's nut job neighbor decided to burn his shed down so all I have left is the engine lump in the frame. Sorry to see it go.
![]() It was a perfect little trail machine.

I had a '86 model. It was a great trail bike, best of both worlds between 2-stroke and 4-stroke.
What was the last year they offered the KDX in America?

Had an 04 220 very fun shouldn't of sold it. I have an 85 motor in a kx500 frame project going right now. My buddy had an 86 in high school and that thing was like an anvil couldn't kill. We thought we beat it. Then he sold it and the next owner thrashed it for like 5 seasons and it still ran like the day my buddy bought it. Unbelievable really.
