Is that what's on the cover of today's MCN?

They've got a New Top Secret Bike Leaked teaser up on their website, but being out of the UK I haven't seen this week's issue.

Haven't seen the photos yet - but the stock Z1000 gets a lot of good press. Could be a fun all rounder.

I hope it looks better than the 2011 ZX10R, that's one ugly mf er

But that is also a good thing, the 04-05 10R is still the best looking kawi ever

I really like the direction Kawi has taken with their recent bikes. Fresh design, quality components, make a big difference.

But I am quite excited by the idea of a Z1000S, basically a ZX10 with semi fairings & handlebar. Now if only they could go the Ducati route & provide an "S" version with Ohlins suspension & Brembo brakes. Then I dont need be a used parts vulture

I don't know myself. It seems a lot more sport bike-ish than a CBF1000 or a Bandit 1250 to me.

I would still like to see one up close and personal though

The current RRW has a nice write up from the intro ride they took. The tank is steel unlike the Z1000, passenger seat is bigger, fairing works. All in all it sounds like they addressed all the reservations I had about the Z which I was certain I was going to buy, regardless. I think I'm in for this one.

Um, my 2010 Z1000 tank is either steel or magnetic plastic. There is a plastic cover at the very front of the tank, but the tank itself is steel.

True but I was worried about how well a mag tank bag would secure. This tank doesn't have a plastic shroud so no problem. Have you used a mag tank bag on yours?

Long time reader...first time poster....:)

I registered to comment on this bike. I currently ride a 2002 Bandit 1200 that I converted to naked. I love my bike. But it's heavy and lacking in a few areas...suspension, carbs, air cooled, etc).

I recently went to a local deal after reading about the new Ninja. They happened to have one by the front door to greet me. Honestly, it's the first bike to speak to me like the Bandit first did in a while. It just looks and more importantly, feels, right. The seating position is actually more comfortable than a stock Bandit. I have bar risers which helps this, but it's a smaller, more compact bike, at least from a stationary sit. I love the looks. I love the feel. I just wish I could test ride one.

I'll wait for some more reviews. My wife gets out of school in May, which means I will likely be in the new bike market. But the new Z1000s is at the top of my list. For loyalty's sake, I wish the new Bandit would be inspiring. I guess a fully customized 07-09 model would be great. And the motor is out of sight. But the new fully faired version completely lacks inspiration but loses nothing on price.

Got to sit on one. What a great vibe.

I had to remind myself that this sport-toruing missile has better torque and almost as much bhp as my old CBR1100XX.

Amazing really, what we have come to take for granted.

Looks pretty good in black, and stunning in green & black. Much better in person than in pics.
