How do we find you? Look for the ADV sign at your table? Inside or outside?

Places to live east/SE of Phoenix
All,
I'm up in AK and the bride and I have pondered buying a place to get away from the cold AK winters occasionally. Also, my kid is going to ASU for a few more years, so we have reason to visit. I was just in Phoenix dropping her off for school and looked around. The housing market is obviously ripe for taking a shot. As I drove around the valley I noticed most of the communities are packed together. I was hoping for a place where I could have a bit of space and be able to ride out the "back door" so to speak. (Yes, we're spoiled up here). We visited with friends in Gilbert and as I looked both east and south I noticed areas that were somewhat enticing. The bride, on the other hand, wants to be fairly close to either: 1. ASU or 2. Glendale (where her aunt lives). I would like to be able to relax w/o being packed within spittin' distance of my neighbors (no offense, but it's for VACATION!) Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Planning a trip in your area
Hey there everyone. I am planning a trip down to your neck of the woods (are there trees???). I am plannning on trailering the bikes since the little lady has limited time off from work while I am unemployed/retired.
![]() I am planning on trailering to Vegas or Phenix to meet Sue who will be flying in. Just wondering what areas we should see and what roads we should ride. ![]() Sue Likes pavement but does OK on hardpack/gravel roads when the pavement mysteriously ends. any input from you guys down in Arizona would be appreciated. Places to go and things to see. Arizona will be the main destination and we are going to visit friends by Tucson so after that we will be open for two weeks. Should we stick in AZ or head to Utah or New Mexico? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Winter is moving in this week in the Midwest. We were blessed with a light winter so far but that looks like it is over. Weather should be nice by you guys in April. Cheers

I've been lurking on this thread for a while and this week I got a KLR so if I ever manage to get a free weekend I might have to get in on one of these rides.

Thanks! Life is a bit hectic for me right now too. I'm hoping things slow down soon so that I can get in the bike and do some exploring soon. I'll watch for the next ride here too.

Where do you buy motorcycle gear?
Hey everyone,
Where do you all go to buy motorcycle gear out here? I feel like the only place to order adventure gear for the bike or protective gear for a rider is through a catalog or online. But, that doesn't offer me the opportunity to try it on and see how it fits. I know there are places like ride now or the harley dealer but unless I want to wear stuff that will take me across town without a whole lot of protection then I'm out of luck. Where does everyone go for their stuff? |
