100S Paint Job

As some of you know i picked up a 100S in PHX this past summer.

Timing and location was key on this transaction given that picking it up in PHX on 7/22 would allow me to stop off in Ouray on the way home to Chicago.

I gotta say I love the bike, I've had a number of tech sessions and worked out all the electrical gremlins and mechanically it runs perfect now.

That said, I'm sick of the color. Many of you were kind, proly felt sorry for me sporting the new armor in my wrist and all, but you know it, the color is just wrong.

I'm thinking i want a factory quality oem color. Specifically, the black/silver smoke. AFAIC, that paint job was the coolest color of the S bikes of that period.

Anyway, the question i pose to the gallery is, what kind of an endeavor is it to get a good paint job? How much $$ can I expect to spend??

Included in the cost will be a faring, i've been watching ibmwr but have yet to see anything..

For those of you who forgot, here's the Yellow S

The pin striping on the side panel bothered me so much I recently spray painted it black..

You know what let's start a poll.

it needs to be black

1 fender, 1 seat pan / tail section, 1 faring, 2 side covers, 1 tank - stripped, blocked, sprayed, striped, cleared, then cut and buffed...my price would be $1600. others will do it for less, but you know what they say about value.

I say paint it whatever color tugs at yer heart. If it's OEM, fine, but I would have no qualms about going non-standard.

Yeah I think he's right. I like the quirkiness of the yellow but a black Adventure & black airhead will look cool together when I fly out to Chicago and borrow one of them

Black and silver smoke or Daytona orange. I agree. Normally I like yellow. Had a Sun Yellow 1150GS for a while but your R100 sucks in yellow.
