Wonderful pictures but how did you communicate with the locals.I've got some scot friends who communicate via a series of grunts, moans and facial twitches that is totally ununderstandable to me.

Looking great. We´ve been there in August 2010, but we took the "short round" (no Islands!). Ferry from Amsterdam to Newcastle, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness, Helmsdale, Durness, Ullapool, Fort Augustus, Nevis Range, Glasgow, Newcastle, Amsterdam.
As you said, wonderful Land, nice People, fascinating Sights but we were lucky with the Midges( seemed they didn´t like us)
perhaps we´ll repeat this journey... someday...

Lots of the UK left to see!
The Lake District is my favourite area in the UK. The Hardnot pass is certainly a buttock clencher, there was no way I was going to stop going up there. My R1200R combined with my short fat hairy legs would have meant disaster if I had stopped.
The "Road to the Isles", Fort William to Mallaig is another beautiful ride. I've spent 5 weeks at Mallaig in August and hardly had 7 dry days. Scotland is green 'cos it rains - a lot. The English need a translator in Glasgow- (watch Taggert a Scots detective TV series)
There's still lots of beautiful Britain to see.

Glad you had a good time in Blighty. I'm heading up to Scotland for a week in May/June so this report has just increased my anticipation.
