O.C.R. - 2012
Ok folks, the wait is over, sorry for any delays, I have been rather busy.
The next OCR will be held at Bramwell Station FNQ, not to be confused with Bramwell Junction which is the roadhouse 12kms south of the station. That is where you buy your fuel. Have spoken to Kaleena who along with her partner have just taken over the station, which btw is a working cattle station, and she is very keen on accommodating us. Mentioned that you could be looking at anything from 150 to 300 riders+, and she said in typical Aussie speak "no worries mate". There is plenty of camping area with shady trees, toilets, showers, meals and a licensed bar, cost is $10 per person per night, but no swiming hole,( they have bloody big croc's ). Currently the tar ends somewhere around Laura, which means dirt for about 450kms. If you do a google search you will get a few photo's which are old, the previous owner Wendy had a few issues and has moved on. Currently they are flood bound due to the big wet, See you there on the 2nd full weekend of August 2012 Cheers

Clarification, please...

I've done a google maps search for Bramwell Junction and got the Roadhouse which is in Weipa. When I searched on Bramwell Station it gave me a location which is closer to Cooktown (just south of Lakefield N.P.). Bloody Mapsource doesn't want to know about Bramwell anything. Can you give us a better description of where to find the rally location? Just for interest sake at this time. Thanks, BruceC |

Don't spose there's any chance of making it the 3rd w/e of August so those at the border get a good chance to get there in time. And me, I'll be trying to ride from Darwin to the OCR in 4 days, or 5 if i'm lucky.
