Maritimes Mid-July
Carving off a chunk of Eh-land starting second week of July. North from Vermont to the Gaspe, then across the top of New Brunswick to Whitehead, NS, where I just bought two acres. Planning on a few days in PEI and another few in Cape Breton. I've been all over the southern parts of NS on various trips, and across the Canso Causeway once. Anyone have any suggestions of must-do's or possible get-togethers in those parts?

What weight rod and flies? I'm currently limited at the upper end to a 9' six-weight, as I haven't been casting over anything heavy. I have flies for most circumstances.

Good. I'll bring the small fly box, sectional rod, and hip pack. Don't think I'll pack waders and felt-soles!

I have a choice of cycles to take on this trip. In my personal favorite order: 1: 1995 BMW K75 "Brick" Standard/Naked with windscreen and bags. Just soooo smooth. Like buddah. 2: 1983 BMW R80RT. A little squirrly in cross-winds, but I think they got this bike right. That big fairing is comfy when the chips are down. It makes the right sound. 3: '07 KLR650. Very squirrly in cross-winds, but the long travel front and rear smooth out the bumpies. I have a Brittania fairing, so I fear no forward wind. Must resign to 75-80 without cookin' the mill. Probably buy a set of meats before and after, also.
