And reserve not met.

Are they really worth that much, or is it just ebay?

I've never seen one go for that. It IS very clean though. For that money you could get a vincent. I'd take the vincent.

I dunno. How could you own an SS like that for so many years and NOT ride it? Or even start it?

I think you could get a decent Vincent for significantly less than that! One that I know the owner of got $76,000 at an auction in Monterey in 2008, and I hear they've come down quite a bit since then.

Read the info on it. He just might get it. Would not suprise me.

What'd the Cyclone board tracker go for recently? Was a bunch!

I gotta '77 900SS square case that I'd let go w/1650miles on it.
Engine is together but the rest of the bike was taken apart for restore in '80.
PM if there is strong interest($12k).

Is that the one that actually won the 200?

If not, they are on crack.

Well, this is just my opinion but no, 100K isn't enough for a really good one. There aren't that many truly great Vincents available and the ones that are out there are well known in Vincent/collecting circles. My bet is that theres enough demand for the great ones, that they'll hold their value. The not-so-great but still good ones will go up and down with the market but they're still money in the bank.

Maybe but the most recent Vincent sale that I know about was a solid $100K and that was during this past Winter. It looks as if the folks with money are still buying but it won't last. In fact, I don't believe it can last but right now theres money out there and collectables are hanging hands from the not-so-rich into the hands of the rich.

Check this one out. This Excelsior recently brought in $36K+ at auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...237+&viewitem=

Guess you don't like riding them then

Vincents, though pretty advanced at the time and perhaps the most storied marque, are relative POS from a riding perspective (yes, I've ridden a few) compared to any bevel; which can still be ridden at a pretty good pace and remain safe. Many bevels, and particularly SSs, have been going for silly money the past few years: but as long as there are buyers I guess it's not really silly.
