Mobil Racing 4T Syn 10-W40 is what service manaul recommends for Tiger 1050.

Castrol

Triumph has a deal with Castrol, there's a sticker by the oil plug, at least there was on the XC I saw. Rod

Triumph used to have a deal with Mobil 1, now they have a deal with Castrol. I guess Castrol pays more $ for the name drop.

However, the owner's manual makes it real simple and non-brand-specific:

"Semi or fully synthetic 10W/40 or 10W/50 motorcycle engine oil which meets specification API SH (or higher) and JASO MA."

The emphasis exists in the original text. They then go on to name-drop the Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T but the Mobil 1 Racing 4T works just as well.

So either of those two or any other oil of the specified weight which meets those specs will do just fine.

I got a whole lot of 10/50 synthetic BMW oil left over which I will gladly use in the Tiger.......should be just fine...
