Frame bender in central Pennsylvania USA
I have a slightly bent handlebar and a brand new handlebar. I plan to have the used bar bent back to the correct shape, matching the new bar. Can anyone recommend a shop to do this in central Pennsylvania, USA?

If the bar's made of aluminum, don't even think about it: although strong, tempered, forged aluminum is not designed to alter it's shape effectively, it'll actually weaken, whereas steel has much better ductile characteristics, in which case it's ok to bend back into shape a few times. This being said much of it has to do with what the iron has been alloyed with. Your local engineer firm, pipe benders will be able to help. PAT

Check your phone book. Any good machine shop should be able to help you out. Yes I am basically telling you to get off your lazy ass and figure this out for yourself. Your next post will be about how much they wanted to rip you off for just straightening your bent handlebars.

any one who's trying to maintian a reputation for good workmanship- won't take on this kinda work. any personally i wouldn't trust any shop who would. you'd be miles ahead by just breaking down and buying a new set. i'm on the cheap side of most projects, but this is no place to save .
