2 V's and 2C's to James Bay
Follow along if you like. I hope to add pictures and info along the way as we ride from York, Pa to Radisson, Quebec and back. Availability of WI-Fi will be the key. We are camping most nights other than our stay in Radisson.
There will be four riders meeting in the York area on Sat. Aug.13. Two on V-Stroms and two on Concourse's. My trusty ride is ready and waiting.

Bike additiions for the trip
I added a fly rod tube just in case I have a chance to fish.
I added the gas can mount to carry gas for whoever needs it. Just trying to be a team player.

Day 1
I finally have wifi in Radisson! So here goes.
Four riders started Aug 13 in York, PA. The destination Radisson. QC Canada. CDCSlim (Jim) 650 VStrom Litespeed602 (Dave) 1000 VStrom C14XTom (Tom) 1400 Concours MaxBet (Karl) 1000 Concours It was a rolling meet up so the first pic is of the first gas stop near Binghamton, NY. Today is 500 miles of Interstate to Ottawa, ON. , Not very exciting. Just what we needed to do to get out of the US as fast as we could.

Bridge to Canada North of Ogdensburg
Sometimes a red light in the middle of a bridge is not so bad. Especially on an open grate one. It gave us a little time to look around.

View from the bridge
We decided on crossing here to avoid the large checkpoint at the Thousand Islands.

Camping at Ottawa Munipal Campgrond
Campground was convenient to Rte 417. The campground is nice with a tent only area. Being close to the highway it is a little noisy all night long.

Soft Bags
The bags on both are Nelson Rigg. Functionally great. They do color fade. We both have them on the bike nearly full time. My bags on the 650 have not faded as much. Not sure if it is newer material. They do claim to now be made with fade resistant material.

On we go
We continued up rte. 117, then 111, and eventually to rte. 109. We would be on 109 for a long time. Going through towns like Val Door and Amos broke up the day with gas stops and snacks. Our goal for the night was Matagami where we fueled up and started up the James Bay Road. Fueling in Matagami is a must. The next fuel is 381 km.

Matagami Lake Campground
Our destination for tonight. After fueling in Matagami we started up the James Bay Road. There is security checkpoint where you need to check in and out to use the road. Km 37 is the campground.
Nice facilities. Not much grass for tenting. More of an RV park. Good lake access.

Thanks. We went on the short tour which was the dam and lake. The full tour also goes through the power generation plant. Just did not have enough time for it all. We will be in western Canada this year. Hope to return to Quebec again soon. I love it. Sent from my BlackBerry 9700 using Tapatalk

Did you guys get bitten up on your trip?
