Greater Flugistan Multi-tag

I was thinking that there's a certain inequality to how tag-o-ramas are played in that jobs get in the way. Or maybe technology. Certainly geography.

So let's try to fix that and level the playing field with something that still requires riding, thought, strategy, and is file-photo proof.

On Friday night, 11/25, around 9PM I'm going to post a list of 7 items/things that you need to photo "collect" with your bike. The pictures must be done in daylight, and you have to have a red towel/rag/neckerchief draped somewhere on the bike.

You can plan your strategy Friday night and go out starting Saturday to get the photos.

The "winner" is the first person to post with all 7 items in it.

All photos must be in a single post. That means 7 different photos in one post.

If someone else has posted a winning thread, don't post yours

Since this is a regional game, the general guideline should be things that everyone has a reasonable chance of getting. For example; if you wanted to use a shoreline/beach, it should be a lake or ocean shoreline/beach; not just an ocean shoreline/beach ('m going to include this in the post as well).

Tagged objects must be "real" not toys, models, etc. of the objects, unless a toy/model/etc. is explicitly called for

Once a person "wins" a challenge he/she gets to post a list of 7 items, again choosing a different easily transportable thing (like a blue towel/rag etc.) to be the marker.

Needless to say, the person who wins is excluded from participating in the challenge he/she puts up.

I don't care if you trailer your bike to each place. Great for when the snow's on the ground I guess. If you're anal enough to care about winning, I'm generous enough to let you demonstrate your pathology

You can even do this as a team if you want- as long as the single post has all the pictures in it. I figure there will be a tradeoff between the efficiency of shared knowledge/riding and the inefficiency of coordination. Plus, it will amuse me to think about all the planning/plotting and issues that will come up

Simple enough? Did I miss anything?

Is this going to be a pavement oriented TOR, or do I need to go out and buy a DRZ400?

Pavement oriented, but a legal dirt road is in scope.

If I wasn't clear, the tag objects should be generic, not specific. For example, a red house, rather than a specific red house.

We'll see how it goes. I wanted something that would be fair and could be played region-wide.

Sure-- we can hardly wait for the creative whining to commence

That gives me a thought-- for this thread, whenever anyone whines, post this or a similar image with a "this cheese should go well with your whine sir/madam".

This is from the 1st page. Are you saying you didn't really mean this?

Oh, I meant it alright. I guess I didn't type slow enough. You seem to be missing the fact that I said I (or anyone) could post it if there was whining. I haven't used it because I've thought the dissension wasn't whining, but opinions or questions about some things.

I guess I recognize the distinction between opinion and whining, but you seem to be having trouble with it. But here's a hint-- you're getting pretty close to the latter

Anyway, the challenge is still active- go get them before noon tomorrow.

Show me a post where I objected to a dissent per se. I gave reasoned responses to every criticism and agreed to a couple of changes when a case was made. And I don't think I posted my cheesy picture yet.

And if you paid better attention in law school- focusing on the intent rather than the letter- you would know that a proper response to dissent could be additional disagreement and clarification- which is what I did.

So don't try to make this into a "Thread Spring" discussion

I'll go back and self-censor my posts so that your flip-flops will seem flawless and transparent, like Romney!
I'll type this real slow so you don't miss anything - I haven't accused anyone of whining and haven't used the cheesy picture to indicate it for any post. To the contrary, I have responded with what I felt were reasonable explanations for decisions I've made.

And just so I understand-- if I don't change I'm too rigid and serious, and if I do make a change based upon reasonable requests I flip flop? Let me guess-- you're auditioning for an intern job at Fox news.
