google earth to nuvi 550 transfer

help,read alot about the going from google earth to my nuvi550. ive read about the transfer but couldnt figure it out. so if you know any tricks please let me know,also a step bt step would be nice thanks

Create track in google earth, go to save as kml or kmz. Go to gpsies.com and convert to gpx

Load into basecamp and load onto nuvi
On nuvi import the file to custom routes.

Took me two years to figure that out!
