Question 950 Enhancement...

I've got a 950S '05 on order through a UK dealer, but their estimated delivery of 2 - 4 weeks direct from Austria has slipped. They're telling me an enhancement for the 950 means the factory aren't releasing anymore until the "fix" has been applied (no date is being given), though ones that are out there would get the fix at a service.

Anyone got any ideas what this 'oil' related fix is ? Either I'm getting the run around, they don't know what the fix is or it’s more serious than I'm being told.

Thanks for any info.

Matt

I have also ordered a 2005 model 950s about 5 days ago here in Greece and today they called me and told me that the bike its in the show room. I am going to ask them if they heard anything about this.
Can you be more specific of what is exactly the problem they are trying to solve.

The reason I ordered the 2005 model was to avoid any upgrade issues the 2004 models had. But I quess this is KTM.

The gifts they give away if you buy the 2004 model here in Greece are:
Acrapovic+ Gel seat+ crash bars and the bike costs here 14.000 euro

oil-related fix?

This is interesting ... I assume this "fix" applies to US models as well...?

What's the issue that's being addressed?

update...

My dealer has let me know that the bike is being released by KTM and should be here shortly without the fix - to be undertaken by the dealer. He says this effects all 05 950's. I'll try and find out some more details.

The fix, I think, is a oil jet problem. Seems the jet is too small and gets blocked preventing lubrication of some point in the motor.
